The teaching practice identified as structure refers to the orchestration of physical movement around the classroom and to the predictable and orderly structuring of learning tasks and activities.

In this study, the more effective teachers continually demonstrated structure in the way that they managed the physicality of activities. They ensured that instructions were delivered clearly and that children understood exactly what they were required to do.
