Individualisation

Definition : "Differentiated literacy instruction recognises individual differences."

In the study some of the more effective and effective teachers seemed to be aware of differences between children and challenged individuals at an appropriate level. Individualisation is the second teaching practice in the differentiation dimension.

In terms of classroom management this involves responding to the children as a fluid series of groups with differing needs and attending to specific individual needs.
